we 7th December 2018

Hi All,

Next week we will be expanding on our explanations topic and looking at instructions.  The instructions will be Christmas themed – all will be revealed!

The children completed their writing on the water cycle, but here is the link as it is still a firm favourite in this class ,and I keep on having requests to play it.

In maths, the children will be multiplication.  We will be revising the grid method, then working on the ladder method – which is like an expanded version of long multiplication.

In the afternoons we will be continuing our work on mountains , we will look at different mountaineers who have conquered Everest, as well as finishing our models off.

We will also continue our science topic for this term, which is ‘states of matter’.  This week we will be exploring evaporation and condensation (the work in English is going to really support this).  We will be rehearsing the carols and our part of the Christmas carol service this week again.   As well as computing and French as well.

See dates at the bottom – there is a lot coming up before Christmas.

Highlights for the children this week

  • Preparing for the Christmas Carol service
  • Swimming
  • Show and Tell (trophies and bassoons!)
  • Working with thermometers in science
  • Maths teasers challenge
  • Assembly stories (Plenderleith)
