Year 6 - Looking Back and Forth - Friday 2nd October 2020

Y6 - Friday 2nd October 2020 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 6

Looking back:

What a busy week we’ve enjoyed in Year 6 this week.  We’ve made the most of the sunny days and have been outside most days either for lunch, or for some of our regular lessons.  This week, we’ve continued to work on The Good Thieves in English, focusing on what happened to Vita’s Grandpa.  Maths has seen us revise, practise and consolidate our skills for multiplication (which resulted in a super discussion on Friday of how to complete question 8 on the worksheet – evidence in the photos of who had cracked it!)  Our afternoons have seen us enjoy learning about the Indus Valley; finding out about Lourdes and the word “pilgrimage”;  we’ve been looking at a specific scientist too – see family questions below.

We are really making the most of our sport at the moment.  Miss Oakes – from Premier Sports – is teaching dance this week; we have enjoyed core fitness with Mr. Townsend and on Wednesday, we welcomed Mr. Capewell from Holmes Chapel Comprehensive who led the class in cross country.

We are really enjoying working with our new class this year – it’s been another good week as we’ve headed into October.

May we also say a “Thank You” to all of our parents for the class air purifier?  It’s compact, sits quietly in its little spot and is displaying a green light throughout the week – we’ve got super-clean air.  Your support with this is very much appreciated by the class.

Letters issued Y6:

None this week – look out next week for information about the Kingswood visit 2021.
