Reception looking back and forth week ending 7 May 2021
The highlight of the week was walking to the post box at the entrance to the Infant site to post their surprise letters to you.. Hopefully they will arrive today, Friday or on Saturday. We hope you are impressed with their writing.
We also had a visit from Mr Pearson (Hannah's dad) who is a vet. He told us all about his job caring for horses. He brought is some great “show and tell” items which he uses in his job. The long gloves where a hit especially when he told them why he needed them!
We have focused a lot on handwriting this week and started learning how to form the capital letters correctly.
The children continue to enjoy the phonics sessions and engage really well. We are extending our sentence writing in phonics and are now verbally adding adjectives to make the sentences more exciting.
Our art focus has been line drawing and the different types of lines.
We went over the homework sheets and made tallies of the types of houses, the colour of front doors and the number of rooms. We read out the things the children wanted to change and also the interesting facts. Thank you for doing this homework with them.
Thank you for supporting the raffle. If you child does want a ticket please send in 50p on Monday.
Have a good weekend.
