Reception weekly update week ending 15th December

This week we have learnt about Christmas traditions in other countries. In the Netherlands the children leave hay and sugar in their shoes and Santa feeds the reindeer and leaves presents and sweets in return. In China they have a tree of light. In Australia Santa wears shorts and a t-shirt with flip-flops and the reindeers rest while the kangaroons help pull the sleigh.

We have learnt the last three phase e sounds this week: er/ure/air.

They have written their Christmas cards and assembled them.

On Wednesday morning we had Sophia Hatfield in to do Festive Story telling. She told the story of town mouse and country mouse, The little christmas tree and a few others. The children where captivated. She said how very well behaved they were and she would love to come back to Goostrey School
