WB 4.6.18 Yr 1

Hi All,

Hope you all had a good holiday. The weather has been glorious and with only a few storms!

In English time this week we will be beginning a new unit on Instructions. The children will be creating fruit kebabs and then writing instructions for them. If you would like to support this at home, the best way is by baking! The children will get first-hand experience of following a set of instructions, if you can show the children the layout of the recipe as well as talk about how the instructions are set out (direct and clear). This would really help to consolidate their learning.

  1. maths we will beginning on new topic on multiplication and division. At this stage of the children’s education, we work on looking at arrays or groups of (looking at this using visual displays, example below).

If you would like to support your child with their maths work. It would really be a great help if you keep practising counting in 10s, 5s and 2s.

In the afternoons the children will be looking at Judaism in R.E. on Monday. In science the children will be continuing their work on exploring the world of plants.
