Week Ending 5th May - Year 3

We've had a wonderful week in Year 3. We have now completed our Literacy topic on Pompeii and the Japanese tsunami, focussing on newspapers. Our final news reports were wonderful and show a lot of thought!

Next week, we will be moving on to think about how to write a persuasive letter. During these lessons, we will be thinking about using formal language and lots of persuasive vocabulary.

In maths, we are continuing to look at multiplication and division - moving on to exploring the grid method for multiplication and the chunking method for division.

We will be drawing our science topic to a close, looking at the rock cycle and rock use. We will also be thinking more about Mary Anning's life and paleontology during the Victorian times.

Other exciting things this week include Sunshine Singing with Mrs Benson! Wonderful!

Please remember that homework is to write a book review on your favourite book at home. You have until 17th May to do this, but more homework will be handed out on Wednesday. Spellings have also been sent home and they will be tested on Friday 12th May. Please practise these at home as well as when given time in school. They are important.

Thank you for a lovely week, Year 3. Keep up the good work!
