Year 6 - Week in Review - Friday 30th November 2018

Not only has another week gone by in Year 6, but another month has gone too.  Where is the year going?

This week, the pupils have enjoyed the beginnings of a new class story, based upon the ancient tale of "Beowulf".  We have read the initial part, got to grips with some very unusual names and places, and we are now writing in both graphic novel style and narrative.  We'll post some of the pupils' writing very shortly.  In class, our knowledge of using protractors and calculating angles has been strengthened too.

In our afternoons, we have been discussing how Hindus show respect for all living things; developed our listening to, and appreciation of, musical pieces; continued to learn about electricity and circuits; and - of course - played with our buddies.

We have each been tasked with learning one verse from our recent poem "The Highwayman" and we hope to learn all 17 verses off by heart by Christmas - one of our English objectives.  In addition, from next Monday, the pupils will be learning sections of "The Christmas Truce" to perform at our Christmas Carol Service.  Your support with learning these lines would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you.

Here's to another good week in Year 6.
