Year 6 - Looking Back and Forth - Friday 26th January 2024

Y6 – Friday 26th January 2023 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 6

Please see our photos from this week's learning on our "Display" tab too!  Can you spot your child?

Looking back:

What a busy – and absolutely delicious – week we have enjoyed in Year 6.  It began on Monday with Mississippi Mud Pie and as the week progressed, we had tasted pretzel and chocolate chip cookies, blueberry pie and muffins, individual hot dogs (with ketchup and mustard), and all topped off with churros and chocolate dip.  Thank you to everyone at home who is supporting our learning (and our tummies) with their baking, mixing, chilling, wrapping, tasting and so much more!  Our class is excelling in the food making, sampling and enjoying as part of their American studies.  We have also been looking at recipes in maths with our ratio skills looking at ingredients for cookies, flapjacks, soup and muffins.  We’re beginning to spot a bit of a theme!  We’ve completed narrative extract for our story about Hansel and Gretel and we are now moving onto letter writing based on this very dark story from the aptly named Grimm Brothers.  ICT and mapwork proved interesting this week, too and we rounded off Friday with a lovely session with Buddies and PE.  What a lovely week once more.
