Friday  14th December 2018 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 2

Looking back:

The children enjoyed the Nativity. Thank you to everyone who helped them learn their lines, created costumes and came to enjoy the performances.  We have also been busy creating instructions in English, understanding division through sharing, learning about the city and comparing it to the countryside and much more!

Year 2 – Pupils’ Highlights:

  • division with reindeer and chocolate coins (!)
  • having fun with all the teachers and friends
  • making Christmas cards
  • reading.
  • One child said how much he enjoys playing with friends at school because “they look after you and that feels good”.

 

Family discussion questions:

  • How is the city different to the countryside?
  • What are imperative verbs?
  • How can you share out 16 sweets between four friends?

Homework in Year 2

There is an optional homework for the holiday which was sent home today. Children can:

Write a story about Christmas

Write a set of instructions

Create some addition or subtraction questions and then solve them
