Year 3 Looking Back and Forth 13/6/25
Friday 13th June 2025 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 3
Looking back:
What an end to two weeks of swimming! Our children have done fantastically well to maintain their efforts and concentration throughout these sessions and I am really proud of them all. We have progressed again with our maypole and it’s beginning to look like a dance of some kind so that great. We have enjoyed our new book in English and our text all about the fairground…we were on the edge of our seats! In maths we have completed our work on time and in PE, we gave javelin our best shot. History saw us complete our work on Boudica and the revolt and recorded our knowledge of the Three Invasions. We have finished the week off with more excellent times tables challenges and our trying to hit new heights each week!
- Swimming!
- We have enjoyed starting our new class book
- Maypole dancing – making more progress than ever!
- Learning our rhyme about the months of the year in maths!
- PE – working on long jump and javelin!
- Everything!
Family discussion questions:
Ask your children…
- How many days do April and May have altogether?
- What have you learnt in swimming this week?
- How many times did the Romans try to invade Great Britain (Britannia)?
Looking forward:
Next week, we have another very exciting week planned as we begin to practise our dance very seriously as show time is almost upon us, we will be discovering more about the Romanisation of Britain in History, beginning to write our own lost narrative in English, continuing with athletics in PE, working on angles, lines and shape in maths and learning about earthquakes in Geography! .
Thanks for a great week everyone!
