Year 3 Looking Back and Forth 27/6/25

Friday 27th June 2025 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 3

Looking back:

What a hard-working week it’s been throughout this week!! We have really tried to make our Maypole performance a wonderful thing to see and we would like to thank the Infants for being our first audience! We have worked hard on angles and lines in maths, written two paragraphs of our lost narrative story in English, have learned how the developments of Roman roads moved the Empire forward in History, have learned about how tectonic plates move to cause earthquakes and how they are measured in Geography, more athletics in PE and times tables, spellings and reading as usual. We finished the week off by learning how to paint a mood piece using watercolours.

  • Performing our Maypole to the Infants
  • We loved art today
  • Maypole dancing – making more progress than ever!
  • Working on lines, angles and shape in maths
  • Writing our own lost narrative
  • Finishing our class book
  • Everything!

Family discussion questions:

Ask your children…

  • What is a 7 sided, 2D shape called?
  • What how do you paint a mood piece?
  • What does perpendicular mean?

Looking forward:

Next week, we will be working very hard to prepare for our very exciting Roman Day in Chester. I will be sending out reminders of everything your child will need later in the week. We will also be continuing with statistics in maths, completing our lost narrative in English, learning about Roman bath houses and homes in History, completing our volcanoes and earthquakes work in Geography, continuing with Athletics in PE, finding out about Shabbat and other Jewish festivals in RE and finally looking at health eating options and packaging in D&T.

Don’t forget about the 4 Monday football sessions over the Summer holidays – get your name down for a guaranteed place!!

Thanks for a great week everyone, for the charity donations today and see you at ROSE DAY!!!!!!
