Year 3 Looking Back and Forth 28/11/25

Friday 28th November 2025 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 3

Looking back:

We have really enjoyed developing our singing again this week in Class Three. We have also worked hard in English, writing our extended writing piece about Jemmy Button and learning how to plan brilliantly to write using amazing description, and in maths, we have worked our socks off again to complete our work on column addition and subtraction, using inverse operations and beginning our multiplication and division work. We continued with coding our Microbits computing session where we programmed a workable dice – very impressive – and in PE we continued developing our netball skills – quite a challenge this week! We have finished our work on how different groups view God in RE and we learnt about why Egypt was so important to the development of Africa in history. One of the highlights of our week was learning about sketch maps in Geography and using digital technology and a selection of maps to draw our own based on Goostrey.

Well done Class 3 for being ter-ri-fic!!!

Year 3 – Pupils’ Highlights:

  • Learning about the Egyptians in History
  • Enjoying drawing sketch maps in Geography
  • Our first Christmas Celebration rehearsal - we love singing even more now
  • Wet play games and drawing

Family discussion questions:

Ask your children…

  • What are the Egyptians most famous for?
  • What is the inverse and how does it help us in maths?
