Year 6 - Week in Review - Friday 9th February 2018

Year 6 - Week in Review - Friday 9th February 2018

Wow!  Not quite sure what else to say this week - it's just been one of the most interesting weeks we've ever had in school.  Of course, we're talking about our new fabulous mural, created specifically for us at Goostrey by Russ Meehan (aka Mural Life).

The inspiration for this mural comes from our class novel "Rooftoppers" by Katherine Rundell, where a little girl hopes to find her mother.  One of the attempts includes painting in red letters on the outside of the bright white house where she lives.  This sparks a discussion in our lessons about whether this is vandalism or not, and leads into a graffiti topic.  We are so pleased that Russ was able to come and work with us in school and we hope that you are as pleased with his work as we are in our Year 6 class.  Truly inspirational to watch him work and see our houses being created in spray paint - with such specific detail.

In our other lessons, we've been working with fractions in maths, having musical time with Mrs. Benson and working on designing and completing our electrical work with Mrs. Cowell.  Thank you too, to all the Year 6 who have supported our Travelling Book Fair - they've certainly been extremely busy!

Only one more week to go and then it's half term.
