Reception class update Friday 25th April 2025
Hello all
It has been lovely to have the children back after the Easter break and all have settled back well. I feel they have grown a bit taller and seem more settled at the start of this half term.
Our theme this term is The Underground and this week I read them the story "What's under the bed?" They came up with lots of ideas of what they want to learn about the underground so we kicked it all off this week with looking at facts about dinosaurs. They each drew their chosen dinosaur and wrote a fact or two.
In maths we were working on number sequence. In RE we talked about what a church is used for and they remembered a lot from our visit to St Luke's last term.
We are working on our items for grandparents tea party. The gifts are nearly all done and we are receiving many RSVP via email or letter which is very exciting.
GRANDPARENTS TEA PARTY:
I will be arranging a seating plan in the next week so if you know of any changes in attendance please let me know as we do not want to leave anyone out.
Don't forget to let me know if you are able to provide eats as I have only had two replies from parents so far.
This coming week we are learning about root veg and we will be making vegetable soup so hoping to improve their chopping skills (part of the D&T curriculum).
We will be planting bean seeds too.
