Reception class update Friday 27th February
Hello all
This week started with celebrating Chinese New Year and the children had a great day learning so much and enjoying prawn crakers and fortune cookies.
On Tuesday I introduced them to our half term theme of - All Around Us - the village of Goostrey and asked which landmarks they know. We took a walk around school looking at what we pass when we go over to the juniors. They then drew a map for anyone needing to know the way.
On Wednesday the children started making their Mother's Day craft suprise.
Reading continues weekly as does phonics lessons daily.
In My Happy Mind on Friday we learnt about the second superpower strength - Teamwork and Friendship. One was: Love and Kindness which we did before the half term break.
In RE on Thursday I introduced them to the story of Easter.
SAVE THE DATE:
Grandparents tea party will be on Friday 15th May at 2:15pm.
All grandparents are welcome.
If your child does not have a grandparent available to come on that date I have two lovely ladies, who the children know, who are happy to step in on the day.
The children will make formal invites to their grandparents once we know who is coming.
Please let all grandparents know and then let me know exactly who is coming. The children make gifts for each of them and we have a formal seating plan to make sure everyone has a place setting. (I have had grandparents arrive in the past and we had no idea they were coming so did not have a setting or a gift ready for them).
So please email me, once you know who is attending, and I will need the correct spelling of the name your child calls them by (e.g. granny, nanna, nannie, grandad .......).
