Reception class update Friday 5th September

Hello all

What a super first week at school for all the children and staff. We have loved getting to know the children. We have also celebrated three birthdays, including mine. So a joyful week all round. 

The children were asked to paint a portrait of themselves, which we will display in class next week once we have everyone done. I have started a low-key assessment, but not the formal baseline yet. 

Some children went into the singing assembly on Thursday morning and played instruments while Year 1 and 2 sang. Everyone did PE on Friday and Mrs Murdock, the PE coach, was so impressed with the morning group as was I with the afternoon session. 

The children do get a morning fruit snack but you may send in a snack of your choice - just not a chocolatey snacks, please. Some had both! 

On Monday, 15th September, I will host the class meeting in the Sunshine Room at 5:30 pm. Please do not bring children to this meet and I will try to keep it to 30 minutes. I will remain to chat to you after the formal meeting. As always, please just email if you have any questions.

Just a BIG ASK for you to label your children's clothing, especially jumpers and coats. 

Don't forget to send in their favourite book this coming week.
