Reception class weekly update Friday 9th January
Hello all
It was lovely to be back after the holiday and the children were happy to see their friends.
This term our theme is "All About Me" so we are going to focus on the 5 senses and then anything they would like to learn about their bodies. So we learnt about our eyes and the sense of sight this first week back. I hope they showed you their optical illusions which they have in their bags. We also learnt a lot of facts about eyes so now we are very knowledgable and chat about our pupils being big or small depending on the light. We also chatted a little about blood and we looked at our veins through our skin.
We painted and also wrote about things we like and things we don't like. The display board will have these paintings up soon.
The snow brought a lot of joy but it does bring with it lots of wet gloves and socks. Many gloves jammed into the radiator vents to get them dry for lunchtime play. If you have found a knitted grey and white mottled hat please send it back to school as one of our boys is really missing his wooly hat.
I have topped up all the pots this week with new words and sounds if relevent. Let me know if I have missed your child. Please make sure pots are in school everyday.
This coming week we are going to learn about the sense of hearing and learn about the parts of the ear and how they work.
