Reception weekly update Friday 10th October 25

Hello

This week we heard the story of Little Red Riding Hood. Their literacy activity was to chose some goodies for her basket and see if they could recognise some sounds in the words. On Thursday we headed for the woods as we were told that the wolf had taken Little Red Riding Hood's basket full of goodies. He must have nipped into the class while we were at lunch. We went in search of him and the basket and hopefully the children reported back that yes indeed we did find the basket but no wolf. A few saw his tail and some his teeth but not his whole body. We enjoyed the treats Little Red had left for us.

We have been working hard on the exhibition gingerbread cottages as these are now decorated and ready for display.

On Monday I will be hosting a phonics meeting at 5:30pm. If you cannot make it please let me know and I will do my best to fit in another time before half term.

Reminder that the children have forest school on Monday so they need to come in dressed ready for a morning in the woods and bring a pair of wellington boots. They will need shoes for the afternoon.

Have a good weekend
