Reception weekly update week ending 24th April

What a super weekend we are enjoying. I am sorting all things Knutsford May Day so if you are coming to watch next Saturday please look out for me as I will be walking with the cowboys.

This week we have loved being outdoors and had a great time in water play too. The children found "fossils" in the sandpit so there was a troop of palentologists armed with paint brushes extracting these amazing finds. The children also made their own fossils using plaster of paris and these will come home at the end of the term. We also discussed which animals live underground.

In literacy we read the book The Something and our writing task this week was to guess what the little boy thought was in the hole. They came up with some great ideas. We wrote a letter to Rebecca Cobb the author and she replied which was very exciting to tell us what actually was in the hole which she found as a child - frogs!

In maths we have worked on one more and one less.

Urgent request: We need glass jars for the tea party. We need at least 36 and only have 8 at the moment.

Hats: If you wish to send in a cap or hat please do so and it does not need to be a red school cap.
