we 6th July Year 1

Hi all,

This week in English we will be writing our own versions of the Pirate Cruncher story by Jonny Duddle (it is a fantastic book if you have not come across it).  We will also be focusing on adding adjectives (describing words) into our sentences to make them more interesting as well as carefully choosing our verbs.

In maths we have finished working on multiplication and division now and will move onto place value again.

In the afternoons the children will continue to look at the British Isles.

Thank you to those of you who have helped your child with research.

We hope your child enjoyed the transition week, last week.  It was a good opportunity for Year 1 to meet and get to know Mrs Freeman.  As well as enjoying creating piratey masterpieces.  We hope you enjoyed looking through the booty in the bag that came home on Friday.

Thank you to all the parents and grandparents who supported us through the week.  You will see from the highlights the children really enjoyed working with you in school.
