Y3 Looking Back and Forth 26/11/26

Friday 26th  November 2021 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 3

Looking back:

We have really enjoyed developing our singing again this week in Class Three. We have also worked hard in Science, learning more about forces, where we have experimented with cars,  we continued to write our extended writing piece about the importance of the Egyptians to the development of Africa, we designed and justified our own symbol to represent God in RE, completely dazzled Mrs Sant with our writing in English about Jemmy Button’s adventures, worked our socks off again in maths to learn our new method of subtraction which builds on from our ‘shark fins’ in year 2 and compared Goostrey to Elizabethfontien by using the laptops, learning how to copy and paste images too.

Well done Class 3 for being ter-ri-fic!!!

Year 3 – Pupils’ Highlights:

  • Gymnastics session in PE with all of the apparatus learning how to control our bodies on the inclined monkey bars

Family discussion questions:

Ask your children…

  • What are the three main things we have learned to improve our singing?
  • Who is Scooter?
  • Challenge Question: Can we miss out our visits when doing column subtraction?

Looking forward:

Next week in year 3, we plan to workshop column subtraction and recap on addition, complete our History writing about the Egyptians, complete our Jemmy Button stories and begin our publishing, learn about the importance of the Bible to Christians, develop our gymnastic skills even more, practise our Christmas performance outside for the first time and continue to work on the laptops to finish our Geography work.
