Y3 Looking back and forward. w/e 11.1.19

Friday 11th January 2019 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 3

Looking back:

Over the last week, we have begun looking at our myths and legends, creatively creating amazing and wonderful mythical beasts by playing games of consequences as well as developing our hero and heroine.  Meanwhile in maths we have been working on converting between mm, cm and m.

Year 3 – Pupils’ Highlights:

  • The start of our myth and legends was brilliant, I liked learning about the Chimera story.
  • In RE, I enjoyed drawing my version of what God looks like.
  • In PE we played lots of fun games!
  • Everything.
  • I enjoyed coming back to school after the Christmas holidays so I could play with all my friends.

Family discussion questions:

  • How many cm are there in 1m? So how many are there in ½ m? Can you write that as a decimal too? What about 3.75m, what is this in cm?
  • What did you think God looked like? What makes you think this?
  • Have you learned your timetables? It is ‘Week 3’ next Friday.
    Looking forward:
Next week, we shall be completing our converting of distances in maths as beginning to count on using number lines. English lessons will see us using our imaginations to create settings for our mythical stories as well as plan and write the opening.
