Y4 Looking Back and Forth - Friday 9th October
🔙 Looking Back – This Week in Year 4
🏆 Children’s Highlights
This week, the children have been working incredibly hard to publish their Leaf lost narratives. They have shown great care and determination in editing and improving their work, aiming to produce writing of exhibition standard. In Maths, we have been learning about Roman numerals and how they are used to represent numbers.
The children particularly enjoyed:
- Creating leaf artwork using oil pastels
- Making food chain collages
- Learning about the digestive system
- Writing comics with friends at breaktime
- Enjoying an all-day breakfast for lunch
- Spending time playing with friends
💬 Ask at Home
Why not continue the learning at home by asking your child:
- What are the rules of Roman numerals?
- What does X mean?
- What does XL mean?
- What does LX mean?
- What does C mean?
- How would you write 2026 in Roman numerals?
🔜 Looking Ahead – Next Week in Year 4

- 🔬 Science – Food chains, predators and prey
