Friday 18th October 2019 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 5

Looking back:

It’s been a great week getting stuck into our exhibition work. This week we have produced some Greek temples, Greek theatre masks, information about Greek Gods, and published a Greek myth. Non-stop creativity and learning!

The children also had a great session with an artist on Tuesday, creating robots from old appliances.

Year 5 – Pupils’ Highlights:

  • We loved making the masks and the temples.
  • We had a great time with the artist making robots.
  • We have enjoyed creating a Greek dance in PE.

Family discussion questions:

Ask your children…

  • To tell you about the myth, ‘The Trojan Horse’.
  • To explain why temples were important to the ancient Greeks.
  • To tell you about their dance.

Looking forward:

Next week we will be putting some finishing touches to our exhibition work before it all goes up on Tuesday night. The exhibition opens at 2pm on Wednesday and there’s loads going on for children to see and do.

The Year 5 exhibition performance is in Thursday 24th October, 5.30pm.

Wider Opportunities:

Have a practise playing your instrument. Practise getting it out in under two minutes. Have fun getting to know your instrument.
