Y5 25.1.19 Looking Back and Forth

Friday 25th January 2018 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 5

Looking back:

The children have produced lots of wonderful ‘Rivers’ topic work this week. They have really taken care and pride in the presentation of their work which has been lovely to see.

Year 5 – Pupils’ Highlights:

  • We enjoyed doing the estuary wildlife leaflet.
  • We enjoyed spending time looking at maps of Goostrey.
  • We enjoyed problem solving in maths.

Family discussion questions:

Ask your children…

  • what they learned about multiplying fractions.
  • what they learned about estuaries.
  • What research they found about local rivers.

Looking forward:

Next week we will continue our writing topic based on ‘The Railway Children’. In maths, we will be looking at how to calculate a fraction of a number. In science, we will be undertaking an investigation testing water-resistance.
