Y5 28.6.19 Looking Back and Forth

Friday 28th June 2019 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 5

Looking back:

The children enjoyed Bike-ability and our eco-afternoon this week. These are some of their comments:

Bike-ability:

We learned how to ride safety on the roads.

It was fun to be outside and exercising.

I feel more confident on my bike now.

Eco-afternoon:

I enjoyed making the posters about helping bees

I liked working with other year groups.

I liked writing haikus.

We liked the art where we were recycling plastic.

We learned about the importance of bees.

Year 5 – Pupils’ Highlights:

  • We have enjoyed the story ‘Tukku-Tukku and Samson’ in class.
  • We enjoyed making our own moving toy.

Family discussion questions:

Ask your children…

  • To tell you what they learned about road safety from their Bike-ability days.
  • To tell you about the carousel of activities on eco-afternoon.

Looking forward:

On Monday, the children have a day of first-aid training provided by an outside agency. Girls have been requested to wear trousers on this day.

On Thursday, it is Sports Day. Children need to have a plain ‘house-colour’ t-shirt with them to change into, and their usual PE kit. The fun begins at 1.30pm.

Please see the newsletter for information about the summer exhibition homework. Children are being asked to make a piece of wheel art.

English: Given Monday/Return following Monday.

Spellings: Given Friday/Tested following Friday.
