Y5 5.4.19 Looking Back and Forth

Friday 5th April 2019 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 5

Looking back:

We’ve had an enjoyable last week of term in Year 5. The children have worked incredibly hard this term and it is fantastic to see the progress they are making. The children completed our persuasive writing topic with some fantastic work that we ‘published’ today. They also did some tricky ratio work in maths and they really rose to the challenge.

Year 5 – Pupils’ Highlights:

  • We have really enjoyed this half-term’s PE and feel we are much better at gymnastics now.
  • We have enjoyed the science experiments about rusting, separating materials and thermal insulation.
  • We are looking forward to our Easter break!

Family discussion questions:

Ask your children…

  • What they have learned about writing persuasively.
  • What they have learned about world rivers this term.
  • What they feel they are doing well in this year.

Looking forward:

We break up today and I hope you all have a lovely Easter holiday. The children have worked so hard and deserve an enjoyable rest. When we return, we begin a fantastic topic based on Ancient Greece. Our writing will also be on this theme, looking at Ancient Greek myths.
