Y5 27.9.19 Looking Back and Forth

Friday 27th September 2019 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 5

Looking back:

This week has gone so quickly and we’ve done so much. On Monday, we completed our Burwardsley geography topic. The children have also been writing a recount about our fantastic residential. We had a brilliant time and the children’s behaviour was impeccable.

On Thursday, we enjoyed a trip to the Museum of Science and Industry. It really was an action packed day!

Year 5 – Pupils’ Highlights:

  • We loved the trip to the MOSI.
  • We are enjoying Wider Opportunities and learning our instruments.
  • We have liked writing about Burwardsley and wish we could go back.

Family discussion questions:

Ask your children…

  • To tell you about the wonderful things we saw and learned about at the MOSI.
  • To tell you all about the geography skills we have studied in our Burwardsley topic.

Looking forward:

Next week we being our exhibition work in earnest. This year we are focusing on the inventions that the ancient Greeks developed, many of which we are still using today.

On Monday we have Olympic canoer, Kurt Adams, in school. He will be telling us about his dreams for Tokyo 2020. On Tuesday, the children will be working with a metal sculptor to produce some exhibition artwork. Don’t forget the children would like to show you some photographs from their Burwardsley residential. This will be at 2.30 on Friday in the Junior Hall.

Wider Opportunities:

Have a practise playing your instrument. Practise getting it out in under two minutes. Have fun getting to know your instrument.
