Y5 Weekly Update 14.3.25
Friday 14th March 2025 – Y5 Weekly Update
Looking back:
It’s been a great week in Year 5. In our Burwardsley geography topic, we researched the Sandstone Trail learning about it’s history and where is starts and ends. In English, we have been using the book, The Promise, as our vehicle text and this has led to some thought provoking discussions about the impact of the environment people live in. Our maths work has been exploring area and perimeter. Thank you for all the great items for the class hamper - raffle tickets will go on sale next week.
Year 5 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- We liked learning about solubility in science.
- In was interesting learning about how music is used in different religions.
Family discussion questions:
- Can the children tell you how to work out the area and perimeter of a rectangle?
- Can the children remember how long the Sandstone Trail is?
Looking forward:
Next week in Maths, we will continue to explore area and perimeter, looking at compound shapes.
In Geography, we will learn about compass points.
In RE we will be exploring the concept of ‘salvation’ in religion and how it has been represented in art.
Have a great weekend!
