Y5 Weekly Update 16.10.26
Friday 16th October 2026 – Y5 Weekly Update
Looking back:
It’s been a hardworking week in Year 5. We have been producing some lovely exhibition work, with the children reflecting on how life is journey. In science, we conducted a really interesting experiment, lifting a 1Kg weight with a 100g weight using a lever! In RE, we explored the story of Rama and Sita and Diwali. In English, the children wrote a fantastic imagined diary entry about VE Day.
Year 5 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- We enjoyed learning about the story of Rama and Sita.
- We have loved putting together all our exhibition work.
Family discussion questions:
- Ask the children what they learned about VE Day.
- Can the children tell you why levers are useful?
Looking forward:
Next week is exhibition week - see newsletter for information! There is lots going on and we have alpacas and pigeons visiting. The children are invited back to sing on Wednesday and Thursday at 4.45pm. In class, we will be completing our WWII topics and tying up lots of loose ends after a very busy half term! The children can use the Friday Inset day to recover!
I hope you have a great weekend!
