Y5 Weekly Update 6.6.25

Friday 6rd June 2025 – Y5 Weekly Update

Looking back:

It was great to see the children after half-term with their usual enthusiasm – it’s hard to believe we have entered the final seven weeks of the school year. To conclude our geography topic, we learned about the Nazca Lines in Peru. In English, the children have written a wonderful survival guide based on the all the knowledge they have gained about adventuring. In RE, we learned about pilgrimages a Christian might go on as part of their faith.

Year 5 – Pupils’ Highlights:

  • We loved our swimming session.
  • It was interesting learning about the Nazca Lines in Peru.

Family discussion questions:

  • Can the children tell you any facts about the Nazca Lines?
  • Ask the children to tell you about their survival guides.

Looking forward:

Next week, all the children will be swimming again on Monday and Friday.

We will be starting a new history topic about our local history in Goostrey. In science we will be learning about the life cycle of insects and amphibians.

We will begin a new writing topic based on a very famous (and large) gorilla! In maths, we move on to explore angles.

I hope you have a great weekend!
