Year 1 we 24th March

Hi All,

In English time this week we will be using the time for our Rising Stars tests. These are short tests that we use to measure the childrens’ progress.

In maths we will be continuing our work on subtraction. We will be using and applying this in problem solving and reasoning tasks.

In the afternoons the children will be meeting Mr Hodaei again, and comparing Goostrey to the village in Iran, where Mr Hodaei grew up. This is a fantastic opportunity for the children to learn about another country – thank you to Miss Hodaei for organising this.

On Thursday afternoon, the children will be having a Global theme day. The children will be working in their house groups and learning about how plastics affect the oceans. This day was devised by junior children. They wanted to continue work that was started for the Water Exhibition this year.
