Year 2 Friday 26th April Looking Back and Forth

Friday 26th April 2019 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 2

Looking back:

Welcome back to the Summer term of Year 2. The children have settled back in really quickly and I’ve been impressed with their willingness to learn. In Maths we have revisited addition and subtraction methods learned over the year and in reading we practised answering comprehension questions using the text. Lots of children had been reading a lot at home and writing stories or doing independent maths questions over the holidays – fantastic! We also had time to share holiday news too, everyone obviously had some great family time.

We are writing poems about a “Freaky Week” and the children are enjoying thinking of lines with six syllables. They have learned about food groups in science. The children are looking forward to maypole dancing, we just need the weather to be on our side!

On Friday, Arthur’s mum brought ducklings into school for Arthur’s “show and tell.”  We all enjoyed learning about them and watching them. Thank you!
