Year 2 Looking Back and Forth 13.3.26
Y2 Friday 13th March 2026– Looking Back & Forth
Looking back: This week we collected vocabulary for our own version of a return narrative and planned our stories. In maths, we have compared the length and height of objects. In Computing, we created Great Fire of London scenes using 2 Paint.
Year 2 – Pupils’ Highlights:

- My highlight was measuring height and length in maths.
Family discussion questions:
Next week we will be learning to measure using litres and millilitres. Please discuss any examples of this at home- maybe when cooking or look on the labels of bottles and containers for examples of measurements.
Looking forward:
Next week we will write our own return narratives- Grandad’s Mountain. In maths, we will be learning to measure using litres and millilitres. In science, we will be looking for microhabitats around the school.
PE is on FRIDAYS! Please ensure school PE kit is worn.
Reading books are changed on Tuesdays. The reading folder is needed in school every day. Thank you.
Please continue to read every night as this underpins so much learning in Year 2. For every consecutive 14 days of reading the children will receive 10 house points and see their face on the ‘Reading Challenge Wall of Fame’. Well done to the 7 children that completed the challenge again this week. Please record when you read with your child in their reading diaries so we can track their progress and see who has completed the challenge this term!
Have a great week,
Mr Warhurst
