Year 2 Looking Back and Forth 19.9.25
Y2 Friday 19th September 2025– Looking Back & Forth
Looking back:
In Maths, we have explored the different ways numbers can be represented and in English we have used conjunctions to join ideas in sentences. In geography, we have located the countries and capitals cities of the UK.
Year 2 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- I have enjoyed RE because we learned about the Lost Sheep
- I liked writing about the Bog Baby.
- I liked handwriting.
- I liked reading The Incredible Book Eating Boy again.
- I liked doing dribbling a football in PE.
- I liked the ‘Rock Paper, Jump’ game in PE
- My highlight of the week was doing partitioning in maths.
Family discussion questions:
- Next week we have Forest School- as a family talk about why you like being outdoors. What do you like to do? How does being in nature make you feel?
Looking forward:
Next week we will partition numbers in different ways in maths, retell the story of the Bog Baby in English and discuss the importance of exercise and describe how exercise affects our bodies. We also have Forest School!!
Reminders
Monday is Forest School- please make sure children have clothes they can get dirty in on Monday.
PE is on Fridays. Please ensure school PE kit is worn.
Reading books will be changed on Mondays. The reading folder is needed in school every day. Thank you.
Please continue to read every night as this underpins so much learning in Year 2. For every consecutive 14 days of reading the children will receive 10 house points and see their face on the ‘Reading Challenge Wall of Fame’. (We should have our first children on the wall of frame this week! ) Please record this in reading diaries so I can track their progress
Thanks for your support
