Y2 Friday 21st November 2025– Looking Back & Forth
Looking back: This week we have used apostrophes for possession in English, added and subtracted tens in maths and enjoyed reading our Nativity lines. We also found out what wattle and daub is!!!!!
Year 2 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- My highlight of the week was football and handball in PE x13 chn
- My favourite thing was everything!
- My highlight of the week was drawing Celtic roundhouses and finding out what the walls were made of.
- My highlight of the week was doing division in arithmetic
- My highlight was practising the Nativity – I can’t wait for parents to see it! x17 chn
- My highlight was English and using apostrophes x 22 chn
- My highlight was our spelling quiz
Family discussion questions:
- This week we found out what it was like to live in a Celtic roundhouse. Ask your child to describe what it was like and tell them if you would like to live there.
Looking forward:
- Next week we will carry on learning our parts for the Nativity and begin to plan and write our own circular narratives.

PE is on FRIDAYS! Please ensure school PE kit is worn.
Reading books are changed on Mondays. The reading folder is needed in school every day. Thank you.
Please continue to read every night as this underpins so much learning in Year 2. For every consecutive 14 days of reading the children will receive 10 house points and see their face on the ‘Reading Challenge Wall of Fame’.
