Year 2 Looking Back and Forth 26.6.26

Y2 Friday 26th June 2026 – Looking Back & Forth

Looking back:  Wow! What a hot week- the children have coped brilliantly! This week we have written and edited our invention narratives. We have used clockwise or anticlockwise and right or left to describe turns in maths. We also welcomed the children from Elizabethfontein and were lucky enough to watch an amazing dance performance.

Famiiy discussion questions:

Next week we will be writing recounts – please discuss at home what you enjoyed about Rose Day if you attend or any other activity that you did over the weekend.

Looking forward:

Next week we will be writing recounts, continuing to learn about food technology and will be planning a non-chronological report about castles.

PE is on Fridays.  Please ensure school PE kit is worn.

Reading books are changed on Tuesdays. The reading folder is needed in school every day. Thank you.

Please continue to read every night as this underpins so much learning in Year 2. For every consecutive 14 days of reading the children will receive 10 house points and see their face on the ‘Reading Challenge Wall of Fame’. Well done to the 7 children that completed the challenge again this week and the one child who received a certificate this week. Please record when you read with your child in their reading diaries so we can track their progress and see who has completed the challenge this term!

Have a great week,

Mr Warhurst
