Y2 Friday 28th November 2025 Looking Back & Forth

Looking back:  This week we have planned a circular narrative in English and begun to use 'exchanging' in addition when adding 2 two-digits numbers in maths. We have also been rehearsing on the stage lots for our Christmas production!

Year 2 – Pupils’ Highlights:

  • I liked PE because I nearly won the last round.
  • I liked in English when we planned our The River stories.
  • I enjoyed maths when we did exchanging the ones into a ten.
  • My favourite thing was everything!
  • I liked doing rehearsals x15 chn
  • I liked doing the spelling quiz.

 

Family discussion questions:

  • Please help your child learn their lines for the Nativity.

Looking forward:

Next week we will continue to rehearse for our production, find out about Victorian houses and write our own circular narratives.

PE is on Fridays! Please ensure school PE kit is worn.

Reading books are changed on Mondays. The reading folder is needed in school every day. Thank you.

Please continue to read every night as this underpins so much learning in Year 2. For every consecutive 14 days of reading the children will receive 10 house points and see their face on the ‘Reading Challenge Wall of Fame’. Amazingly, another 8 children completed the challenge again this week!
