Year 2 Looking Back and Forth 9.10.26

Y2 Friday 9th October 2026– Looking Back & Forth

Looking back: 

This week we have written list poems including some fantastic descriptive language!  In maths, we have been counting in 2s, 5s, 10s and even 3s! We also had the chance to work with an artist for our Exhibition piece.

Year 2 – Pupils’ Highlights:

• I liked working with my partner when we did writing together.
• My highlight was doing maths and English.
• My highlight was doing handwriting
• My highlight was learning about parables
• I liked playing football with my friends x 2chn
• My highlight was spelling x 3 chn
• My highlight was making a map.
• My highlight was being with my friends

Next week we will be making our final preparations for Exhibition - publishing our writing and rehearsing in preparation for our performance. In maths, we will look at related facts and number bonds. 

Reminders

Reading books will be changed on Mondays. The reading folder is needed in school every day. Thank you.

PE is on Fridays. Please ensure school PE kit is worn.

Please continue to read every night as this underpins so much learning in Year 2. For every consecutive 14 days of reading, children will receive 10 house points and see their face on the ‘Reading Challenge Wall of Fame’. Well done to the 22 children who completed the challenge this week.
