Year 2 Looking Back and Forth Friday 8th May 2026
Y2 Friday 8th May 2026 – Looking Back & Forth
Looking back: This week in English, we have identified the features of a ‘banning narrative’. We have been learning to use quarter past and quarter to when reading the time in maths. In history, we have found out about the amazing achievements of Mary Seacole and have started to observe what conditions seeds need to germinate.
Year 2 – Pupils’ Highlights:
I enjoyed seeing Mr. Warhurst x 20 chn

Family discussion questions:
Next week we will be writing a story about a King or Queen who banned all the rules. What would it be like with no rules? What would be good? What would be bad?
Looking forward:
Next week we will be writing our ‘banning narrative’ and learning about the number of minutes in one hour and the number of hours in a day.
PE is on Fridays! Please ensure school PE kit is worn.
Reading books are changed on Tuesdays. The reading folder is needed in school every day. Thank you.
Please continue to read every night as this underpins so much learning in Year 2. For every consecutive 14 days of reading the children will receive 10 house points and see their face on the ‘Reading Challenge Wall of Fame’. Well done to the children that completed the challenge again this week. Please record when you read with your child in their reading diaries so we can track their progress and see who has completed the challenge this term!
Have a great week,
Mr Warhurst
