Year 2 Looking Back and Forth
Y2 Friday 12th December 2025 Looking Back & Forth
Looking back: This week we have been working hard on our Nativity performance- learning our lines and songs. In science, we have explored changing the shape of objects by squashing, bending, twisting and stretching. In history we have found out what life in a Victorian house was like. We also had a visit from Santa and his reindeer!!
Year 2 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- I liked PE because I liked doing dodgeball.

Family discussion questions:
- For science, please discuss how the shape of objects can be can be changed by squashing, bending, twisting and stretching. Can you find objects in the house you can bend or squash or stretch?
- Please continue to help your child learn their lines for the Nativity.
Looking forward: Next week we will be making Christmas decorations and performing our Nativity to an audience!
PE is on FRIDAYS! Please ensure school PE kit is worn.
Reading books are changed on Mondays. The reading folder is needed in school every day. Thank you.
Please continue to read every night as this underpins so much learning in Year 2. For every consecutive 14 days of reading the children will receive 10 house points and see their face on the ‘Reading Challenge Wall of Fame’.
Please record this in reading diaries so we can track their progress.
Thank you for your continued support,
Mr Warhurst
