Year 3 6/9/19 Looking Back and Forth

Friday 6th September 2019 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 3

Looking back:

The children have made a great start to their new school year this week. They have been incredibly enthusiastic and hardworking – it bodes well for the rest of the year!

The children have spent time with all the teachers they will be working with have a made a great impression which is lovely to know. They have begun to learn more about Religious Education, PE and PSHE so far, alongside their Maths and English work and are eager to do more.

 Year 3 – Pupils’ Highlights:

  • We really enjoyed learning lots of new words in RE with Mrs Benson~ it was really fun.
  • It was great working with bigger numbers in Maths.
  • We enjoyed meeting our new teacher and learning some new throwing skills with her in our netball lesson.

Family discussion questions:

Ask your children…

  • To tell you what religious education is.
  • To tell you what our school and classroom rules are.

Looking forward:

Next week, we will be starting our History work by researching all about Great British Inventors and will begin to find out what Geography is and where the UK is in relation to the World. The children will be writing diary entries based on our new book, ‘Mr Ferris and his Wheel’ in English and in maths, will continue working on place value with numbers up to 1000.

On Monday afternoon, the local PSCO will be with classes to talk about e-safety.
