Year 3 Looking Back and Forth 15/10/21

Friday 15th  October 2021 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 3

Looking back:

We have had an incredible week this week, being creative, productive and quite the engineers. Designing and creating our own t-shirt designs, inspired by African surface pattern design, has been something so different to experience and we have loved it! We have completed our mystery stories and made our own journals, written poetry to encourage visitors to tour Africa and all its treasures, have presented facts about Africa from a geographical point of view, have learned out to present a historical timeline of Africa’s fascinating past which was quite tricky, we have built our own African creature in Design and Technology and finally, taken part in a whole class African inspired dance!! That’s just alongside everything else – what a week!!!

Well done Class 3 for being won-der-ful!!!

Year 3 – Pupils’ Highlights:

  • Building our African animals and learning about pneumatics
  • 5 minutes a day – More about Black History Month

Family discussion questions:

Ask your children…

  • What are the shapes called which African surface pattern designs are based on?
  • Can you name any of the famous black people who have changed the World?
  • Challenge Question: What kind of paint did we use for our t-shirt designs

Looking forward:

This week, we will be enjoying viewing our special display of our work and that of the other children in school, experiencing a music session run by Key Strings, completing our pneumatics and finding the time to show of our learning so far in our quizzes.

Thank you very much for all of the boxes everyone.

Thank you again for a wonderful week and I hope that you all have a lovely weekend,

Mrs Sant
