Year 3 Looking Back and Forth 2/10/26

Friday 2nd October 2026 - Looking Back and Forth in Year 3

Looking Back:

Thank you everyone for yet another great week of all sorts of challenges here in Class 3! We're all doing so well - I feel very proud. We have completed another part of our Egyptian Mystery story, alongside practising spellings, using the 'show not tell technique', reading and quizzing and beginning our new Spelling Shed work. In maths, we have completed our Place Value topic and learned the significance of timelines to historians and archaelogoists and created our own in history. We had yet another wonderfully successful PE lesson again today, practising our La Crosse skills and earning ten more marbles for brilliant behaviour. Some of us had a really good go at our times tables weekly challenge today and the same with our spelling test. We completed our work this week with a lovely whole school assembly and working on our artwork for the exhibition. Well done Class 3!

Year 3 - Pupils' Highlights:

  • We loved drawing in art
  • PE was so fun learning how to throw and catch the ball in La Crosse
  • Writing our mystery narrative too
  • Our Times Tables Challenges
  • Playing with friends and seeing our teacher

Family discussion questions:

Ask your children...

  • Tell me about how to play La Crosse
  • What is the best technique when drawing?
  • How do we count in 50s?

Looking forward:

We will be continuing with our artwork for the exhibition this week, as well as building our own ship in Design and Technology, beginning addition and subtraction in maths, continuing with our mystery narrative in English, working on our Science work for the exhibition too and yet another great PE dance session and lots more.

Thank you again for a great week everyone,

Mrs Sant
