Year 3 Looking Back and Forth 22/10/26
Thursday 22nd October 2026 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 3
Looking back:
What a final four days this has been – thank you so much to every child in Year 3 for giving their absolute all to their work in preparation for the exhibition. They certainly know how it feels to experience ‘you only get out what you put in’ and for this, they should be extremely proud of themselves as I am of them. It always amazes me what children of just seven and the odd eight-year-old can produce when they are part of something as wonderful as our Goostrey Exhibition. Also, I would like to thank those who managed to join us for our singing celebration on Wednesday and Thursday afternoon – we thoroughly enjoyed performing together as the Junior Team!
We have also completed our mystery narratives this week, had a wonderful yoga session, spent time with the alpacas, enjoyed a talk from the Pigeon team who visited today and of course LOVED viewing our work in the exhibition. We have also completed our quizzes in reading, spelling and grammar and also completed our history time lines.
Well done Class 3 for being just brilliant!!!
Year 3 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- Performing for our parents, friends and family
- Sharing the exhibition and the cakes
- See our work on display looking for amazing!
- Rick the Pigeon Man!!!!
- Yoga
- The alpacas
- EVERYTHING!!!
Family discussion questions:
Ask your children…
- What have you enjoyed most about this year’s exhibition?
- Where did early humans migrate to?
- Challenge Question: Can you show your family some yoga moves?
After half term, we will be working hard to develop methods for addition and subtraction in maths, finding out who Jemmy Button was in English, reading a wonderful book to commemorate remembrance, continuing with rocks experiments in Science, looking at celebrations in French, completing our work on Egypt in history and lots more.
Thank you once again, for joining us for our incredible Goostrey Exhibition and I hope that you all have a safe JOURNEY home for a lovely Half Term break,
Mrs Sant
