Year 3 Looking Back and Forth 5/6/26
Friday 5th June 2026 – Looking Back & Forth in Year 3
Looking back:
What a busy first week back it’s been as we embark on the final stretch of our time in Year 3! We have attempted to practise our Maypole dance but have been thwarted by the weather and so hopefully, better luck next week. Maths has seen us begin work on money and I have to say that we are doing a good job! English has been based on our new book and we’ll discover what it is next week. RE was all about Jewish festivals, History was about the Roman Army, PE was athletics which we loved and Science was all about Finally, we all loved our animals and eco themed afternoon on Thursday where we worked with other year groups across a whole range of activities celebrating Sir David Attenborough’s incredible life, dedicated to our theme.
Year 3 – Pupils’ Highlights:
- Our animals and eco theme afternoon!
- We have enjoyed starting our new class book
- Maypole dancing – managing routine one!
- Working on money in maths (for some of us)
- Everything!
Family discussion questions:
Ask your children…
- How do we approach adding money?
- What have you learned about Sir David Attenborough?
- What are some of the festivals the Jewish people celebrate?
Looking forward:
Next week, we have another very exciting week planned as we continue with our Maypole dance, take a look at time in maths, explore our new book in English, look at Bar Mitzvah and Bat Mitzvah in RE, explore earthquakes in Geography, find out about Boudicca in History, begin looking at Rocks and soils in Science and of course prepare for June Evening!!! Always so exciting.
Thanks for a great week everyone!
