Year 4 Looking Back and Forth 19.9.25

🔙 Looking Back – This Week in Year 4

We have had another super week in Year 4, immersing ourselves in all things Viking Saga!

📖 English – We explored The Curse of Andvari’s Ring. We tracked the story, examined how it flows, and thought about how the writer makes the reader think, feel, and see. Next week will be very exciting as we begin retelling the saga ourselves!

Maths – We continued our work on place value, comparing numbers up to 10,000.

🏆 Highlights of the Week (from the children):

  • Working with numbers to 10,000 in maths

  • Highlighting and annotating text features of a saga in English

  • Learning about the Vikings in history

  • Creating press prints from string in art

  • Exploring the meanings of our names in RE

  • Singing about Loki the Joker in music
