Year 4 Looking Back and Forth - Friday 19th December 2025

Hello families,

It is hard to imagine that we have already completed a full term in Year 4 — the time has truly flown by.

We have already enjoyed some incredible experiences: learning about the Vikings and their sagas for our exhibition, creating electrical circuits, and exploring life in Anglo-Saxon times. We have written sensitive and thought-provoking stories about isolation, as well as some rather amazing winter kennings.

In maths, we have puzzled our way through addition, subtraction, area, place value, and multiplication and division, and we are becoming much more confident with our arithmetic and spelling too.

We have sung our hearts out at the carol service in front of proud families, completed our Elf Run this afternoon, filled two marble jars (and enjoyed the well-earned treats!), devoured our Christmas lunches, and shown how brilliant we are at tidying up after a wet play.

A huge thank you to our wonderful volunteer, Mrs Bailey, who comes in weekly to support reading comprehension. She is an absolute diamond, and we are very lucky to have her.

Have a wonderful Christmas everyone, from all of us in Year 4. We look forward to seeing you all in 2026 — ship shape and Bristol fashion — ready to embark on even more learning adventures!

Warm festive wishes,
The Year 4 Team
