Year 4 -Looking Back and Forth - Friday 2nd October 2026
🔙 Looking Back – This Week in Year 4
We have had a super-busy week in Year 4! We have begun writing our own lost narratives, inspired by the story of Leaf, the Lonely Polar Bear. In Maths, we have been comparing and ordering numbers up to 10,000.
We also impressed Mrs Murdoch so much in P.E. that the class earned 30 marbles! 🎉 Woohoo! What an achievement!
🏆 Children’s Highlights
The children particularly enjoyed:
- 🎨 Mountain art
- 🥗 Digestion work with Mrs B
- ✖️ Times Tables
- 💬 Chatting with Mrs Fairhurst
- 🎵 TTRockstars
- 💻 Micro:bits
- 👫 Playing with friends
💬 Ask at Home
Why not continue the learning at home by asking your child:
- What do you think of the music from Hall of the Mountain King?
- Who is the composer?
- What is in a food chain?
- What can you tell me about teeth?
- What can you tell me about the digestive system?
🔜 Looking Ahead – Next Week in Year 4
We have another exciting week planned, including:
- 🔬 Science: Food chains
- 💻 Computing: Micro:bits
- 🎵 Music: Hall of the Mountain King
- 🏔️ Geography: Mountain climates
