Year 6 - Week in Review - Friday 30th March 2018

Year 6 - Week in Review - Friday 30th March 2018

The final week of the spring term has been busy.  Our Year 6 have continued their preparations for their upcoming tests and have completed these with focus and determination.  For families who were unable to make the information evening regarding the upcoming tests (SATs), there is a downloadable presentation on the Year 6 page - if there is anything futher you'd like clarification about, just let us know.

They have also been working on their prototypes a little more, continuing their learning and writing about Titanic and enjoying a little PE along the way.  Thursday afternoon saw the pupils all work across the junior classes to visit the teachers and learn a little more about how our use of plastic in everyday life is affecting our oceans.  This was an eye-opener not just for the children, but also for the adults involved.  The planning and delivery of the afternoon's events certainly made us all think about plastics; the effect in our everyday lives; how animals and sea-creatures are affected and how we might be able to reduce the amount of plastic we discard.

So, two terms down and one to go.  It's going to be the busiest of the year - lots of learning, working and a little fun to be had along the way.  As ever, please get in touch if there's anything you want to chat to us about.

Have a great Easter break.

Kind regards

The Year 6 Team

Questions to ask your son/daughter might be:

1.  Tell me what you learned about "plastics" from Mrs. Benson's assembly.

2.  What is a gyre and where might one be found?
